Entorage V.X and Exchange Server 2003

I recently upgraded my exchange server to 2003 from Version 5.5. I am
currently using Entourage v.X on a Mac OS X client. I am having trouble
getting the new exchange server to work with the Apple machine.

The Exchange server is in a separate branch
When I had 5.5 the server was referenced by IP address and worked
I did this with 2003 and it will not contact the server. The other PC
workstations in that branch have no problem getting their e-mail it is
only the Mac.
Any ideas as to how I can resolve this?

Also is there a way I can get the address book in Entourage to synch
with the global address list on the exchange server?

Thanks,

Patrick

Are you sure you setup the proper port ?? Do you need SSL to connect
from where you are ?? Can you access the server through webmail ???

You need to properly configure the LDAP settings. Entourage doesn't
really query the GAL, it justs uses the LDPA functions of the Exchange
server (providing that they have been properly configured ont he
server).

Aside from knowing the correct IP and/or computer name of the server, are
there any tricks you've found to entering the LAP info. I'm having some
really strange issues with a single server install of Exchange 2k4 on Win
2k3 with Enourage 2k4 on OS 10.3. Everything worked fine for a week or so.
Now, all 6 Macs can only send and receive about 20% of the time. Changing
DNS/LDAP settings in the Mac OS or in Entourage only temporarily fix teh
problem.

Pleanty :-( It's on a per case basis. It entirely depends on what your
net admin setup. There could be hundreds of options: special port,
domain information, authentication...

Weird... Is the server on static or dynamic IP ?? Sometimes, the IP is
assigned for "some" time and then changes letting you down if you rely
on the IP directly or if you have a DNS that's a little slow...
