I don't usually deal with Macs, so I'm hoping that this is an easy one. I
have a friend that just purchased a new iBook (OS X) to replace her iMac (OS
9) and I'm trying to help her transfer her data.
The first problem that I ran into was that no matter what I tried, I could
not get File Sharing to enable. Apple had a knowledge base article with all
sorts of suggestions that I couldn't get to work ending with "reformat the
hard drive" which I didn't try. My work around for this was to enable web
sharing and transfer the files from the web directory.
I'm now faced with trying to import the Entourage 2001 data into Entourage
X. I'm not given the opportunity to specify a location for the import files
and I get an error stating the Entourage 2001 can not be found. Is there a
way that I can strategically place the files so that the import process
picks them up?
Also, if Mac has anything like the Windows XP File and Settings Transfer
Wizard I would love to know about it.
Thanks
