Entourage 2004 and Exchange Server 2003

I am using OSX 10.3 and trying to connect to my Exchange Server 2003
with Entourage 2004. i can get mail and sent mail internally but when
i try to send mail externally i get and smtp error of unable to relay.
i have tried many settings with my smtp server preferences and have
come up empty. Any help would be appreciated.

The SMTP settings don't apply to the Exchange accounts. For Exchange,
ENtourage is seding directly throught the Exchange server and you cannot
select an alternate server. I would say that the admin probably has to
fix the problem on the server itself.

As a workaround, you can create a boggus POP account where you specify
the SMTP you want, the same sending e-mail address (don't enter anything
for the POP server and disregard the warnings) and use this account to
send mail. It's a bit tedious, but it could do the trick until the admin
sorts things out,
