Entourage 2004 and Hotmail, Exchange

Hi,
I am using Entourage 2004 to access Hotmail. If I keep the application open,
after sometime, it gets email only from the Inbox folder and not from all
the folders.

Regarding exchange server, once my machine can talk to the exchange server
through VPN, entourage does not start syncing the folders immediately not
when I click send and receive. It starts "on its own" convenience. The only
way is to restart the application.

Is there any fix for this. I updated the application to the latest and the
Update doesnot show any available updates
