Entourage 2004 - automatically deselecting previous category

Sorry if I'm missing something in Preferences or this has been covered
before but I can't see anything listed.

I use David Allen's GTD system and after a lot of trying different
software options, I have found Entourage 2004 near perfect for
implementing GTD and to sync with my Palm Tungsten E.

After a bit of experimentation and adaption, I'm really pleased with
the results. I am now trying to fine tune things for speed, learning
keyboard shortcuts etc.

One thing that I would like to tweak connected to categories. If for
example I have, a to-do under a category of "Waiting for..." and want
to change it to say "Office", the to-do will initially be listed under
both categories until I untick "Waiting for".

I presume this is so you can have a to-do appear on several category
lists?

I don't have this requirement, so it would speed things up if when
selecting a new category, the previous one is automatically deselected.
Is this possible?

Thanks
Steve

Most definitely, this is for enabling multiple categories. If you want to
change categories rather than add a category, select "Assign Categories" at
the top of the dropdown (or get to it quicker by command-;), check the new
category you want and uncheck the old one (or vice-versa, makes no
difference). It's true this takes more steps than adding a category, and is
probably about the same as pulling down the drop-down twice, but it's
clearer what's going on.

There's no way to make it as easy as you'd like while the possibility of
multiple categories exists - and multiple categories is "worth more". But it
would be nice if say, holding down the Option key while you selected a
category unchecked all previously checked categories at the same time. Yu
could request that.

Thanks Paul, I'll have a go at requesting it. I beleive quite a few Mac
users who a running with GTD are using Entourage, so I feel this option
may be welcomed.
