Entourage 2004 -Backing up Address book

I am having difficulty backing up only address book in entourage. I
believe it said to export contents in address book to a new note but I
tried that and it did not work.
Maybe I read it wrong.

Go to File > Export, and choose to "Export contacts to a tab-delimited text
file". You can then import that back into Entourage later if you wish.
