I did a search and was unable to find a similar posting.

When I try to change the preferences in Entourage 2004, it crashes. I
don't even see the preferences page, while it loads it crashes.

I checked the console crash log: I did see this: (62:
coreservicesd)tfp: failed on 0:

I am on a MacBook Pro running 10.4.6.

Make sure your copy of Office is up-to-date. Download and install the
latest Office 2004 updates, which are the Office 2004 11.2.5 & 11.2.6
updates.

In Office 2004, use Microsoft AutoUpdate to get the latest updates. From
any Office application, go to Help > Check for Updates (or manually launch
Microsoft AutoUpdate from the Applications folder). If any updates are
needed, they will display in a sheet, at which point you can check them and
press the "Install" button to download and install them.

Updates can also be found at the Microsoft web site:

If that doesn't help, try creating a new identity (Entourage > Switch
Identity), and see if you have the same problem there. If not, it's a
problem with your old identity.

Try fixing your old identity. Try rebuilding the database. In Entourage
2004, you must launch the Microsoft Database Utility.
1. Launch Entourage, holding down the ³Option² key. Or, launch the
Database Utility separately; it is located in HD/Applications/Microsoft
Office 2004/Office/.
2. If you are prompted, allow the Database Utility to quit open Office
applications.
3. Once the Database Utility is open, select your identity from the list at
the top.
4. Click the ³Rebuild Database² button, and click ³Continue.²

If that doesn't help, try exporting your data to the new identity. Go to
File > Export. Choose to export all items/all item types to an Entourage
archive. Then, when that's done, switch to your new identity. Go to File >
Import, and follow the instructions to import the contents of the archive.
Note that you'll need to re-create preferences, accounts, rules, mailing
list entries, etc. An alternative is to try Paul Berkowitz's "Export-Import
Entourage" script package, which can handle other kinds of data.
