Entourage 2004 Database Conflict

F

farrah

I am running OS X version 10.4.8 and having a problem with my
Entourage 2004 (version 11.3.3) database. My existing database is
about 280 Mb. Documents>Microsoft User Data>Office 2004
Identities>Main Identity>Database is its location.
Also, I have searched my computer and only one database and identity
exist. My issue is everytime I open Entourage instead of using my
exisiting databse it creates a new database in the main identity
folder and gives it the same title. I have tried using the database
utility but it either crashed or it too created a new empty database.
Any suggestions?

Hmmm, this is strange. Check the permissions on the contents of the
Microsoft User Data folder. If you do a Get Info it should show

Owner: [You]
Access Read & Write
Group: [You]
Access: Read only
Others: Read only.

I also suggest running Repair Permissions.

My permissions match those below and I've repaired permissions. Its
still creating a new one.

Owner: [You]
Access Read & Write
Group: [You]
Access: Read only
Others: Read only.

Check the permissions on your Office 2004 Identities and Main Identity
folder.

Owner and group will be grayed out, but the other access is the same as
above.
