Entourage 2004 + Exchange Server

Dear Group,


In my work environment, we use MS Outlook on an Exchange server. When
I set up my Entourage account so that I could use my Mac to read my
work email thru Entourage 04, "leave messages on server" was not an
option given in the account set up, following the directions given
both at Mactopia and from my IT dept.

Now I am in the awful position of having had all my work email
downloaded onto my Mac at home and I no longer have the ability to
read them at work. (Plus they are all jumbled together out of the
folders that I had) Clearly, Entourage downloads, rather than leaving
the messages on th server. (We are talking about thousands of
messages)

1. Is there away to ensure that the messages stay on the server in
thefuture?
2. Can I move them back?

Please help. I have the kind of job that requires me to keep copies
of sent messages especially, for legal reasons!

It doesn't have to be. That's for POP accounts and you are using an
Exchange account. Messages are always kept on the server for these
accounts.

I see.... Did you set up the account as POP instead of Exchange?

set the account as Exchange

2. Can I move them back?

Yes, once the account is set as Exchange, you can copy the messages back
into the Exchange folders in ENtourage and they will be copied back to
the server.

I had already set the account up as an Exchange account, and I tried
dragging the mail back to the Exchange folder, but it did not "stick"
on the server. Any other ideas?l

Select the e-mails and right-click them. In the contextual menu, choose
"Copy to" and select the Exchange folder you want to copy to,
