Is anyone aware of a similar issue to what I'm having with Entourage
mail in Tiger?
When I try to access my email I get a pop up screen:
AFP Connection Satus [fe80:5:0:0:250:e4ff:fe10:f66]
This IPv6 address doesn't exist. I have no idea where Entourage is
getting this address. I tried to set to work offline and that's OK,
until accessing mail. As soon as I check mail this occurs. What's very
strange is that on my desktop with the exact same installation
(different machine- G5 dual 2.0GHz/1.5GB RAM) this doesn't occur.
The program eventually errors out but doesn't continue, it just keeps
trying to access an IP address (IPv6 above) that doesn't exist. A time
out error that it failed to connect- the server is unavailable comes
up. This sequence continues ad infinitum until the program is force
quit. The Force Quit menu indicates that Entourage is unresponsive.
So far I've tried to rebuild databases, change identities to an old one
(pre-Tiger), remove Office and re-install Office (and Entourage).
Nothing worked. I can think of other things to try, but help would be
appreciated, if you've been up against this.
Is there anything that can be done? If not I'll have to stop using the
Mail section and use Apple Mail or my old mail client Gyazmail, but of
which works fine in Tiger.
