Entourage 2004 for Mac: E-mail not appearing in sent items folder...

Hello!

I'm hoping this will be an easy problem to solve. I have a user who
created a new account on his computer to access his account on the MS
exchange server. The new account updated all the items in his inbox and
sent items folders. However, when he sends items out, they go out to
their destinations (clients receive his emails and reply to them), but
do not appear in his sent items folder!

I saw a similar issue on the Mactopia Entourage 2004 support page where
the sent items appear in the deleted items folder in the Files on my
Computer account-- but in this case the sent files don't show up in any
of the deleted items or sent items folders.

Any ideas what could be causing this and how to resolve it?

Thanks for your help!

In the prefs (under the compose tab) there is an option to save sent
messages - he may have this option unchecked.

There is a similar selector in the Advanced tab of each IMAP account
settings, where you can select/deselect saving of sent messages and declare
a folder to save them in.

Thanks, Barry,

All the settings you mentioned checked out OK. But we found a new
wrinkle that solved our problem: the user started a purge of incoming
and sent items and discovered that Entourage placed his latest sent
mail (after the account addition) at the very bottom of two-year's
worth of sent material. Not sure why it did that, but the sent items
themselves are in proper date order but at the bottom rather than at
the top where they were expected.

It appears our problem is solved. Thanks again for the help!
