Entourage 2004 has stopped communicatiing with Exchange server

My entourage has stopped working with the Exchange server. Every time
I launch it it shows the account name and, in parenthesis "not
connected" I am running Mac OS 10.3.9 and all the patches have been
istalled. I have tried rebuilding the database and creating other
accounts which I know work on other machines, but nothing really seems
to work. I have turned the Firewall off. I switched to a different
account and the problem persisted. I repaired permissions and run Mac
Janitor to clear all caches. I have also uninstalled Office 2004 using
the Office uninstalled and have reinstalled the software.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to solve this problem?
