Entourage 2004 IMAP problem: move message from inbox to otherfolder

M

Michael Descher

I am test driving the new Entourage 2004 and have a problem with my IMAP
account. Whenever I move a message from the inbox to any other folder on my
server, it disappears from the inbox but never appears in the target folder.
On the next "receive" it comes up again as a new message in the inbox.

This works perfectly with Apple Mail as well as with Thunderbird for
example.

Any help is appreciated.

Best regards,
Michael

Well, after watching this problem for some more time now I think it is even
worse. It seems that nothing I do in Entourage 2004 gets sync'ed back to the
IMAP server. In case I get a new mail and read it (or just mark it as read)
everything seems to be fine. But then - on the next "receive" - the message
comes up as new again. It seems that nothing - no state change, no move
action, just nothing - gets back to the IMAP server.

Is there anybody with the same problem or some idea what might be going
wrong here?

I am having the same problem with a slightly different configuration. I am
using DAV to connect to my exchange server. Whenever I try to move
something from the inbox to another folder, it gets deleted from the inbox
but never appears in the new folder.

I also get a bunch of failed synchronization errors in my error log (error #
-18596). There is no detail as to why they failed. Does anyone know what's
going on here?
