The Gordian Knot
Something has changed between Entourage X and Entourage 2004. When a Lotus
Notes user invites me to a meeting, I would get the standard
³Accept/Decline² etc. options in Entourage X. However, in Entourage 2004,
they come through as plain text, no options, just with an *.ics attachment.
Nothing has changed in my Domino/Notes environment, and Entourage 2004 seems
to process other iCal messages properly. Here are the permutations I¹ve
tested:
Entourage X to Notes OK
Entourage X to Entourage 2004 OK
Entourage X to Outlook 2003 - OK
Entourage 2004 to Notes OK
Entourage 2004 to Entourage X OK
Entourage 2004 to Outlook 2003 OK
Lotus Notes to Entourage X OK
Lotus Notes to Entourage 2004 NO
Lotus Notes to Outlook OK
Outlook 2003 to Lotus Notes OK
I find that VERY odd. I had an agent that always forwarded my Lotus Notes
invitations to Entourage, so I could keep them both synced. The kludge is
you can open the ics file, and Entourage will place it on your Calendar;
however, you won¹t know if you have a conflict, or when any updates come in,
etc.
I wonder what broke between Entourage X and 2004...?
