Entourage 2004 Junk Mail settings

R

Richard Honey

Just upgraded to Entourage 2004.

I set junk mail settings to High but when mailing myself to test things
were working ok I find that mail from or to one of my accounts gets
classed as Junk. The low setting works ok. The email address is in my
address book as my home email so shouldn't be picked up as Junk. My
work email works fine.

Any ideas?

Entourage ignores the Me contact addresses since spammers can and do send
mail with your own address as the From address. If you want to specifically
allow messages from your own addresses, duplicate you Me contact so you have
you addresses in a contact that isn't the Me contact.

So much junk nowadays is sent with a forged address to appear as if it comes
from your own address that this address (the 'me' contact) is excluded from
the 'exclusive' classification.

To include it, make a duplicate contact with the same addresses - this one
won't be excluded form the 'exclusive' list.
