Entourage 2004 missing emails problem from Exchange 2003

Hi

Some of our users have Mac's with entourage 2004 and are having problems
where their inbox is 2 weeks old and can't view recent messages, apparently
their calendars are out of date as well, i'm told they have done quite a lot
of tests but as i am not a Mac person i am not sure what else to tell them,
our regular mac user thinks it is something to do with Entourage rather than
exchange.

Also, the problems do not happen to everyone, we have a couple of Ent 2004
users who are working fine.

We are running Ex2003 sp1.

Any ideas?

I've had similar problems for a while. You can try rebuilding the
database (which will force redownloading all the information from the
server) : press alt as you launch the application. Or you can try
setting up a new identity and see whether you have the same problems.

Is that the lates service pack ?? Is the server fully up to date ??
Outdated Exchange also induce a lot of problems for Entourage.

I think they may have tried the database rebuild but i'll mention it to
them.

as far as the version goes, SP1 is the latest version although there are
some hotfixes to put on but i haven't read anywhere that they resolve
specific problems with entourage, i may give them a go.

You can try setting up a new personality then.

I remember a while ago that I was stuck not being able to send any
e-mail. One of these hotfixes somehow corrected that.

We have had some of the same problems. Our email team tracked down the
problems to an archiving product called EAS (Enterprise Archive System(
which archives mail attachments out of the Exchange information store file.

The product does not support Macintosh clients, only Windows. However, Mac
clients connected to an Exchange server running Entourage 2004 are
susceptible to a variety of messages missing. We've worked with Microsoft
and verified the problem. The solution is to not run the EAS.

Hope this helps...

That's a very interesting information. Thanks a lot!! I'll ask around
here to find out whether they are using it since we nave NUMEROUS
problems of all kinds on our network...
