Entourage 2004 not sending

Since installing E-2004 I have had problems sending e-mail from
accounts with a dot in the username (e.g. "[email protected]").
After extensive time on the phone with my ISP (Charter), they swear it
isn't them. I have tried shutting off my Mac Firewall protection,
turned off all Junk mail filters in Entourage, rebuilt Entourage,
trashed the Entourage Preferences, and deleted all of the Accounts
and re-entered from scratch. STILL, the accounts with a dot hang on
sending until a I get an ERROR 111 Server timed out message. I'm
stymied! Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I have since re-installed Entourage for OfficeX and no longer have the
problem, so it seems to be isolated to Entourage 2004. Any ideas?
Settings that can be changed? Or wait for a fix?
