Entourage 2004 Office Notification Issues!

I keep having some issues with Office Notifications. Occasionally, the icon
in the Dock will appear, without a number. When I do an action on the item
(i.e., Open), it shows up. Which process controls that the Database
Daemon? Should that be running at startup?

The database daemon will start up when you log in to OS X if you have
notifications turned on. It is the daemon that interacts with the database
and hands off the due events to the notification manager.

I did see some blank notification windows early on n the beta cycle, but the
problem seemed to clear up as the builds got better. Not sure why you would
be seeing this. Is there any common type of events that cause the problem?
Recurring events? All day events?

Barry,

I¹ve noticed it with individual and repeating events.

If I quit Office Notifications and restart it, it¹ll display the number. The
behavior is not consistent, in my experience.

Sorry, I can¹t offer any more advise at this point. I guess it¹s just
something to keep an eye on.

The MS dev team do monitor this NG, so your problem will have been noted.

OK. Please advise if there is anything additional I can provide to help
troubleshoot.

The one CONSISTENT thing I have noticed if I ³Hide Office Notifications²
by doing cmd-H, the number disappears from the Office Notifications icon in
the dock.
