I recently did a very silly thing and tried to change my computer name, which resulted in al my settings going into a new folder and my account starting from scratch. Lost all my Entourage email folders, inbox and sent items and can't find them now as Entourage opens with a new blank account. How and where do I find these folders and saved emails on my system or within Entourage? **help**

Strange, changing your computer name or even the name of your hard drive
should not have this effect.

Your Entourage database must be in a very specific place or Entourage
will not be able to find it. It must be in ~/Documents/Microsoft User
Data/Office 2004 Identities where " ~ " is your own home folder.

If you find your Main Identity folder is still there or you see more
than just your Main Identity folder then use Entourage menu --> Switch
Identity... to switch from your current empty identity to, hopefully,
your correct identity.

Hope this helps!

That should not have happened..... There is something weird there

The e-mails and settings are in ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data.
~/ represents your user account (no matter what the name of the drive
is).

Can you still see this folder and find your identity inside??

Hi and thank you all for your advice.. I have sourced the main identity now, and I see there are 4 items in there, database, mailing lists, rules and signatures. I have tried to import the database onto the new entourage I have now installed, but it is greyed out and wont let me, from what I see it is a big file and looks like that is where all my information is. How do I get to import this now? Any ideas? Your help will be much appreciated..

OH OH OH.. I FIXED IT!!! I found the old database and just dragged it into the new main identity. It then asked me whether I wanted to replace the new main identity with the older one and I said yes. and hey presto.. all my stuff is back!!! Thanks for your help in initially getting me to the right place it is much appreciated. All I needed to do was to drag the old identity into the new one I just created.... Yihaaa!!
