Entourage 2004 - Partial Fix for Delegate Access Problem

J

Jeff Kazules

Okay MacBU,

I know you've been working hard to bring better support for Exchange Server
to the Mac, but there are still many details that are missing or not
thoroughly tested.

With delegate access, I've found several people already having the problem
that Entourage thinks everything is okay, yet nothing synchronizes for the
extra account. I have that same problem.

I am using Small Business Server 2003.

I can get the Delegate access to work partially, only if I turn off "Forms
Based Authentication" from the server itself. By partially, I mean, I can
synchronize from the server to Entourage, but not from Entourage to the
server.

My SB Server is setup with the defaults that the Internet Connection Wizard
sets up and delegate access DOES NOT WORK with SB Server default settings. I
think you should have double checked this before shipping. Please make it a
priority. I sell a lot of Small Business Server 2003 servers, as well as
thousands of your other System Builders.

Hello Jeff,

While your feedback would be appreciated by the MacBU. They do not
officially monitor these newsgroups. By that, I mean if one of them happens
to look through them, it is not on a professional level. The ones that
respond to posts here are users just like you.

If you would like the MacBU to read what you have to say, then it would be
best to select "Send Feedback on Entourage" from the Help menu.

Not actually true - MS have got 'official surfers' monitoring this newsgroup
and many other public forums for issues with 2004. They ARE interested in
what the world thinks of their product and what problems are encountered.

Sometimes these surfers are happy to identify themselves, sometimes they
prefer not to and sometimes they are just silent lurkers.

best to select "Send Feedback on Entourage" from the Help menu.

That is still the best option - that way you can be sure the message gets to
the developers :)

I also wanted the partial fix I found to be posted for the world to see.
Others may find it useful, and still others may have solutions that I
haven't found myself. Plus, how do you know I didn't send the feedback? :)
