Entourage 2004 - receiving email text in code

Has anyone had any problems with receiving email in code? I just
recently installed MS Office 2004 on my Mac. I'm using OS X 10.4.11,
Powerbook/PowerPC G4. Many, but not all email messages received, are
coming in as funky text that looks like code, but it's all jumbled
about. Yet, when I reply to the message, the text shows up fine.
Images and attachments show up fine in the original message. It's just
the text. And it doesn't seem to be text or HTML affected.

A friend had said she wrote her text in Word, copy and pasted, and
when I received it - had that funky coding show up instead of her
text. That's the only feedback I've received so far.

Any Ideas?
Does the 2008 version eliminate this quirk?

Delete the "com.microsoft.browserfont.cache" file in ~/Library/Caches.

"~" represents your home folder, which is usually located in /Users/<Your
User>/ and is accessible by going to Go > Home in the Finder.
