For starters, I haven't used a Mac in almost 20 years, so I was caught
off-guard when we had to add a single Mac to our Windows 2000 network.
I believe that 90% of the problems I am having with Entourage are
because the Mac does not properly authenticate to our network.
The first and main problem is that the Mac user can receive emails from
outside of our network and can send internal emails, but cannot receive
internal emails.
Today, we encountered another problem when he tried to send an email to
external addresses. The Entourage error was:
-17092 "Destination not valid within DNS"
The SMTP server does not recognize any authentication methods supported
by Entourage.
For the first issue, I was wondering if anyone had any information on
simply connecting a Mac to a Windows 2000 network. The Mac does not
need to share any folders or resources, but only needs to access the
Exchange server.
The second issue may be related to KB Article #842882, and if that's
the case, are there any known workarounds? We've been using our ISP
for years, and changing it isn't an option.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated! I'm
Mac-clueless...
Thanks in advance!
