Entourage 2004: Sounds gone

Hi there -

out of the blue today all sounds in Entourage 2004 stopped working and I
have no idea why. I've tried a reinstall of Office but that didn't fix the
problem either. The sounds show up fine in Entourage Preferences, but
clicking on them doesn't play them and none of the regular events (new mail,
welcome, etc.) seem to trigger them either.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to get these back? I'm running Tiger
10.4.1, but as I said above, they worked fine today and just all of a sudden
stopped working about two hours ago.

Got them back... not quite sure what happened here, but I went into System
Preferences...Universal Access and unchecked "Enable access for assistive
devices" and then checked it again.

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I messed with everything
for two days and all of sudden the sound came back. i have no idea how
I fixed it. I suspect there is a button somewhere that mutes the sound
for Entourage. Happiness was hearing the Entourage new mail
announcement. Mess with the Preferences/General/Notification panel.
