Finally got Entourage 2004 sync to work. (See newsgroup post for earlier
problems.) Here's what I did:
* used "Remove Office" app (in "Additional Tools" folder of Microsoft Office
2004) to move all earlier versions to trash, then emptied trash.
* rebuilt Entourage database (held down option key when opening Entourage
then chose "rebuild database" option; the rebuild for my very large database
took 2 1/2 hours.)
* threw away Entourage Settings, Entourage Conduit and Entourage Storage
files.
* reinstalled from Handheld Sync Installer.
* opened HotSync Manager, went to Conduit Settings, and was able to double
click and open Entourage settings!
