Entourage 2004 Toolbar - Customizable?

T

The Terminator

I think I know the answer (but I¹ll ask anyway...)

Is the Entourage 2004 toolbar customizable? For example, I¹d LOVE to have a
button on the Calendar view that does what the command-T does (Go To Today),
as well as the ³View Date...² option in the View menu. I know long-time Mac
users are used to keyboard shortcuts, but I¹m not quite there yet. If it¹s
not customizable, is there any ³hack² around it?

If not...oh well <sighs> :)

No :(

You can send feedback to the developers on this issue. Use the last menu
item under the 'Help' menu - "Send Feedback on Entourage". This message will
go directly to the developers. The more people that request this feature the
more likely it is to be implemented.

Nope.

Usually you can script the action and assign a keyboard shortcut to the
script. This particular action should be doable by "GUI scripting", once
you've gone to System Preferences/Universal Access/Enable access for
assistive devices. But it doesn't seem to work.

However, you can do it another way: Go to System Preferences/Keyboard &
Mouse/Keyboard Shortcuts. In Application Keyboard Shortcuts, add (+) an
application/Entourage, if it's not there already. Then add a shortcut for
'Go To Today' and another for 'View Date' (no quotes). Don't pick one that
already exists. (It's easier to avoid conflicts if you include Control key.)

To be able to do it by button/toolbar someone would have to create an add-on
app on AppleScript Studio, RealBasic, or maybe using FaceSpan. Not simple.
