Entourage 2004 & Verizon FIOS

I currently use Microsoft Entourage 2004 Version 11.3.3 on my Mac and
recently upgraded to Verizon FIOS (fiber optics). I was told no
settings needed to change, but I'm having trouble with my email. It
takes 10-15 minutes to download/upload only a few emails and I often
get the error message: "An operation on the server timed out. The
server may be down, overloaded or there may be too much net traffic."
I called Verizon and they told me that they couldn't provide support
for Entourage and it wasn't their problem. Any suggestions?

For what program *do* they provide support? It might be worth using it
briefly to see if you have the same problem.

Is this problem with the Verizon email server? Or a corporate system?

I'm using FIOS, Entourage 2004 and a corporate email system without
problem.

I haven't tried connecting to the VZ email servers (don't need another
email account to check!).

All providers seem to not recognize Entourage, but the directions are the
same for Outlook Express for Mac (classic version).
