Entourage 2004 w/ SP2 - LDAP Still Not Working

R

I installed SP2 - everything works well including public folders. However,
LDAP still does not work - I keep getting error -50. The web address is the
same I'm using for the exchange server (2003). I've tried the various
recommendations from others on this list - various combinations of no search
base, SSL, No SSL, secure sign on etc.

The server address is in the form: https://servername.company.com -- same
as the address that works with mail.

I'm having zero luck.

If I need to ask questions of our exchange SA - what should I ask?

Thanks for any help.

Rob,

If you can find a PC connected to the same server (EXCH) you can launch
Outlook and Control-Click on the Outlook icon on the System Tray.
There is an item called "connection properties" or the like - if you click
this, it will tell you the server name and the directory name. That should
be the same as the setting you use in LDAP in Entourage.

Give it a shot - this stuff is really difficult - especially if the email
server admins don't know/care about Macs.

LDAP does not expect a URL, not even an LDAP url. Just the server name. I'm
pretty sure https:// will make it not work.

Thanks - It Works with just the server name very, very well - I'm real
enthused about SP2. I'm using it over the VPN at the moment -- hopefully it
will work the same over the internet. rob

It is unlikely to work over the internet unless your workplace allows the
LDAP ports through the firewall.
