Entourage 2004 & web images

I just installed Entourage 2004 on Mac PowerBook G4 with OS 10.3.4.

When I receive an email message that contains graphics, these graphics
don't show up. There is a box with an x in the middle. These are
messages from subscription newsletters and other such services. When I
insert a photo in a new email message, that image does come through.

Help please.

Click the "Download Pictures" button in the Info Bar to display the images.
Images don't load automatically any more because it is a security risk.
Junk mailers sometimes insert images into e-mails called "web bugs." If the
image is downloaded, they know the e-mail address it was sent to must be
valid and thus continue sending junk (and may be able to sell your address
for more).

If you don't see this option in the yellow Info Bar above the message when
you open it, in Entourage -> Preferences, under General Preferences >
Security, make sure you have the option to "Display complex HTML in
messages" checked.

A new security feature in Entourage 2004 blocks the display of pictures (and
other linked mail content) hosted on remote sites. Images can be loaded for
individual messages by clicking on the ŒDownload Pictures¹ link in the
yellow message status bar. This was a huge feature request from users that
found the all embracing ŒAll Pictures¹ or ŒNo Pictures¹ too limiting.

There is a setting in the security section of the preferences to
automatically download pictures from recipients who are in your address
book. That should suffice for most users. If you really want to download all
images from all sources, you can put ".com", ".net", ".org" etc to your list
of safe domains in the Junk Mail Protection dialog. Then, images from all
untrustworthy sources will be downloaded.
