After upgrading to Mac OS Tiger opening Entourage pulls down all the
e-mail in the Inbox from the IMAP server. In the past Entourage would
bring them down leaving a copy on the Mac IMAP server, not now. Using
the desktop during the day then later check mail at my .Mac account
nothing is there; it's on the desktop. This means one cannot have Inbox
mail on multiple computers. Yes .Mac mail is IMAP all mail should stay
on the IMAP server.
Interestingly other folders maintain all their messages they aren't
pulled off the server, happens only to the Inbox. A workaround is to
read mail then move them to folders; mail in folders stay on the IMAP
server. Until this is resolved I must use Mac Mail on all my Macs. As
it should using Mac Mail the Inbox messages can be read on all systems
because the messages remain on the Mac IMAP server.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
