I've imported a large quantity of mail to an imap account and subsequently
rebuilt entourage database. Now all dates on mail are shown as the transfer
date.

How do I display these correctly?

thanks

How did you do the import?

I initially important a pst file then did some subsequent imports via "move"

think it's the moved ones that are more broken and some of the stuff is fine.

all are also fine using thunderbird.

thanks

Depending on the server and some other things, what you're describing does
make some sense. It's a PITA, but in general, the safest way to import mail
to an IMAP account and have all the metadata intact and unchanged is to have
the server administrator help you do it at the server level, not via the
client.

curiously, i'm admin on both systems :)

all is fine with thunderbird, all is fine with outlook, broken with
entourage. dissapointing as quick googling shows this is a continuing issue
from previous versions.

thanks for your assistance,
donna

Hi donna!

Imported messages will show the current date as the "Received" date.
Select View --> Columns --> Sent to view each message's "Sent" date,
which will not change.

Hope this helps!

now that works a treat - thank you very much! :)

I have another "solution" - copy mail to local folders with thunderbird then
upload again with thunderbird. Dates are fine following that. Your is much
much faster.

again, thanks
