Entourage (2008) Contacts Disappear & Re-appear Continuously!

I just upgraded from Office 2004 to Office 2008 today. The installation went smoothly, including copying/upgrading my identities. The first time I opened Entourage I made sure my sync services were toggled on to sync my calendar, contacts and notes with iCal, Address Book and .mac (I have a .mac account).

I noticed, however, that my Contacts weren't there, so I did a .Mac sync and they appeared. But, ever since then, every few minutes, all my contacts will disappear from Entourage, only to reappear a few minutes later and the disappear/re-appear cycle keeps repeating itself -- and I'm not running the .Mac sync. Entourage is doing it on its own. It's crazy!

What can I do to keep this recycling from continuing?

Thank you.

I ran into this, and as near as I can tell, this was more of a Sync Services
problem. Unfortunately, the ways to deal with this are limited. First, this
is assuming that your Address Book data is good, and you have JUST NOW made
a backup. I¹ll wait while you do that.

Okay, good, now.

In Mac OS X 10.5, turn off all .Mac syncing in System Preferences (if you
have .Mac syncing), and all sync services in E¹rage.

Now, open iSync, and in the prefs, hit the Reset Sync History button. That
SHOULD delete all the information in the Truth, and set it back to square
one. BIG SCARY WARNING: THIS DELETES ALL SYNC DATA FOR EVERYTHING YOU SYNC.
Back up first.

Now, in E¹rage, delete everything in your contacts. (we backed it all up, so
no loss. You did back up, right?) In E¹rage¹s preferences, enable contact
syncing, and have AB overwrite E¹rage. It should be happy now. Of course,
you¹ll have to re-enable syncing for anything else, since you previously
cleaned out your sync data. But since you have backups, it¹s all good.
