Entourage 2008, Exchange and Blackberry BES

Hi
We have a problem with two macs, one running Tiger and one running Leopard.

We have an Exchange 2003 mail server and a blackberry enterprise server.

Mail synchronizes fine, and public folders. Calendars work at first, but then they stop synchronizing. If we empty the caches and do a complete resync of a calendar, it works for a little while again, then stops.

Any suggestions? Since we are running this on two separate macs with separate os versions it seems unlikely that the problem is local, but rather a bug in the program or exchange server or some misconfiguration in the exchange server?

Can anyone help? Anyone knows where to look for any relevant log data which might help clear this issue?

thx

Hi kristjan!

This sounds more like a corrupt event. Once it re-syncs then it causes
the problem again.

It probably won't be very easy to find but compare what's in Entourage
with what's on the Exchange Server (via OWA). Somewhere where you find
the messages stop syncing should be the problem message. Most of the
time when you find them they are very obvious.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the response, altough I think I still need more help :(

This problem occurs on two completely different accounts, setup on different computers.

I tried with a clean calendar and I still have the same problem.

If I empty the cache it does a perfect re-sync, it's only after you added/removed a couple of events it stops working. Meanwhile, sync works perfectly with outlook on the same account.

How can I see which entries that would be corrupt? It synchronizes all the calendar entries at first so it's not like it gets stuck on a certain day or entry.

The e-mail sync continues to work when the calendar has stopped working.

Other than what I've mentioned before I can't tell you how to find them
if there are any. If this is happening on two machines then that does
reinforce my opinion that you do have a corrupt event.

Something is probably not syncing although you think everything is
syncing. Look for the latest events that have synced. Probably the last
one is the culprit.

Good luck!

Hi,

I just can't see how that is the problem, since we started with a clean calendar without success, and this problem affects my co-worker, on his machine, running his account as well as my account, on my machine (sorry if this was a bit unclear). So the problem affects more than one person.

Steps to reproduce:
Start a new account, with a clean calendar. Populate it with events from outlook. Then sync entourage. It works at first sync but when you try to add entries they are never sent to the exchange server.

Are there any logs of the sync process (either on the exchange server or on the client) and where are they kept?

If this was a matter of corrupt entries it wouldn't sync at all at first because it would stop on the broken entry (that is what has happened when we had similar problems with the blackberry, and the method you described was used to fix it)?

thx
