Entourage 2008 - spell check: change all error/fault/problem

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

I've searched the web and can't find an answer to my problem. I have v12.1.2 installed yet still have a problem with spell check. I have it set to check spealling before send. When i change all, the message changes only the current word, then sends the message! complete with the most horrendous typos and spelling errors!
then if i do it manually, again when i correct all, it corrects the word under consideration and merrily stops checking (well, how can i say merrily, as if the programme had emotions, or feelings - and if it did would they be close to merry i wonder... OK it's getting late...)
help!
And No 2 - i wish the print font issue was sorted - i see from the forums that this is not seen as a priority as there is not so much feedbacxk on this! This takes me valuable time to cut and past into word, when I'm sure the guys in microsoft could fix fairly simply.
help!
this product is driving me ever so slightly crazy...

Try this:

ˆ Check spelling as you type (you get the red squiggly lines)
Don't check Always check spelling before queuing outgoing messages
ˆ always suggest corrections

I also check the last 4, ignore words and use German post-reform rules.
And No 2 - i wish the print font issue was sorted

What exactly is your issue?

Tip: always ask one question per message. Your subject will better reflect
your issue and this makes future searches easier to find the topic and
solutions.

Diane,
thanks for tip - will try your suggestion
thanks for tip too with one topic per message. my problem with the printing is the fact that when i print an email, the font is way too large - but i see many have complained about this, so not sure its worth raising again...
off to try the spell checking suggestion

Hi diane,
just tried it and it's better - didn't correct one error, but work it's way through the document.
however, it didn't complete the corrections - tehre were still some words with red lines under (incorrectly spelt). So i did the spell check again. Then it corrected one word at a time as per the initial problem.
it's late here in the UK, so off to my bed!

It's up to you to correct. Click on the word with the squiggly lines and it
will offer suggestions or "add".

You can change this in Entourage preferences --> Fonts for Printed Items.

Best option if that does not work is to copy the source of the message under
Message in the Menu bar --> Source. Paste in a text editor and select the
font and size you wish.

There might even be a way to automate this with a script.

Always send your feedback to Microsoft about issues like this. Issues with
the most feedback gets an issue moved to the top of the list.

Diane,
thanks for suggestion. I undersand that i can correct the words with teh squggly lines, but i was hoping for a quicker option (like i used to have in outlook when i had a pc), simply by checking spelling before i send. that way, i can type faast, ignore typos and catch them before i send.
as you can see by this message, i make a lot of mistakes!
i'm surprised that entourage does not have similar functionality.
I'll just have to continue to check and correct single words (not change all) until microsoft bring out an update/patch.
will do as you say with other issue -thanks for pointer
kind regards,
Joe

I'm not saying it shouldn't work with the check spelling before queuing.
I've just never used it. I know many do and have not reported the problem
you describe.

Create a new Identity and test. If the problem goes away, it's database
corruption.

Maybe another user can chime in here and tell us their experience with the
preference.
