Entourage adding Zip extension to attachments

My major client cannot receive zip archives as attachments to email.
Our
workaround is to change the extension to .ZP to send and then change it
back
once it is received.

When I attach a zip file in Entourage X it automatically adds .ZIP. I
do not
have "Append file extensions" selected. And it only does it to ZIP
files.

Can they install Stuffit Expander? There is a Windows version. You could
then use Stuffit to compress the file. The extension would then be .sit.
Perhaps that format will get through.

Entourage can also automatically use stuffit to compress files. When
attaching files choose the attachment options and tell it to compress
attachments.

Our mail anti-virus software complains about zip files but lets them
through.

In the Finder, select the Zip archive, and then go to File > Get Info.
Under "Name & Extension", remove .zip and press the Enter key. Confirm that
you want to remove the extension. Then attach the file to an Entourage mail
message.
