Entourage address book data not fully syncing to handheld

Hello,

I'm hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this situation.
Whenever I perform a HotSync, only some of the address book data gets
synced to my handheld. Most of the Entourage company contacts
(without first/last names) don't get synced.

Here's the environment:

Mac OS 10.3.2
Palm OS 4.1
Palm Desktop 4.1
Entourage 10.1.4 (part of Office X)
Sony Clie PEG NR70

Here's what I've tried:

- hard reset on the Clie

- slow HotSync (hold down shift key when pressing HotSync button)

- removing users/<user>/documents/palm/<user>/Entourage Data/Entourage
Storage

- palm desktop conduits _are_ disabled in <user>/library/application
support/palm hotsync/disabled conduits

The HotSync log shows that all went fine. But through manual visual
inspection, I'd say at least half of the Entourage contacts never get
synced. They are mostly contacts that have just company names and no
first name/last name info. (in addition to work phones). I am aware
that you have to choose between home addresses and work addresses
being selected in the sync criteria. But, this shouldn't exclude
companies with work numbers should it?

I know that I have 611 Entourage contacts. Is there a way to see how
many contacts are on the Clie?

Many thanks for any advice on this one :)

Jill,
I'm no expert, but when I get this sort of frustration it's because
the palm and computer are only talking about the latest changes ( a
true sycronization.) To make the computer's information override the
handheld, you need to ask for this in the conduit settings. To do
this,

Open Palm Desktop
Open Hotsync
Open Conduit Settings
Doubleclick Entourage Conduit Settings
On Address Book, change to Entourage overwrites handheld (one time
only).
Same with any of the other items you want your computer to overwrite.

When you next sync, you should get pretty much everything you have on
Entourage.

Good luck!

Thanks, Skip. This has also been tried, though I forgot
to add it to the original post. << sigh >> Thanks
anyway :)
