Entourage Address book

Hugh Glynn

I have been attempting to use "Entourage" as my email since buying a
new MAC. I imported my addresses from "Outlook" and had no trouble
doing so, however in "Entourage" all my addresses are randomly listed
and I am unable to find anything in the help file to asist me. Does
anyone know about this problem? I would appreciate your comments and
advice. Thank you.

The Address Book displays the names as FirstName LastName, but they are
sorted in alphabetical order by LAST name, not first name. Click on the Name
column and you'll see for yourself.

Groups are another matter - they indeed are sorted by first name. Get Paul
Berkowitz's script Group Sort athttp://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/

It will sort all your groups alphabetically by last name. Whenever you add
any new group members , run the script again on just that group - it's
instantaneous when done that way.

Tip: If you assign Categories to your contacts it's easier to manage your
contacts. Add a category to each of your address entries. Examples: family,
work, buddies, talk lists, newsletters. Now you can sort your contacts by
category for easy searching or creating a rule.
