Entourage and Exchange - where are my contacts?

I gotten Entourage 10.1.4 mostly working with Exchange 2000 SP3, and mail
and calendar are fine. But the contacts from the exchange server are not
visible on the Mac. I assume they should be in the Address Book, right?

Is this related to IMAP? If I try to address a mail, put in just the name
(when I know the contact exists on the server), and do "Check Names", I get
"LDAP Server Error; No entries in the directory service match the search
criteria; Error 10012".

Is LDAP used to transfer contacts, or just for searching the Global Address
List (or neither)?

Any hints why I don't have Contacts, given the above?

I am having the same issue. It seems to be that my users
cannot see the Global Address List in Exchange from
Entourage. I have followed the steps in KB271643 to
connect to Active Dir via LDAP. I'm still getting "LDAP
errors" 10032, 3260 and 3280. KB824887 was no use at all.

Any suggestions as to how the Entourage client accesses
LDAP (SSL or not)? I successfully connected to Exchange
via Outlook Express using IMAP4 and can brouse the GAL via
LDAP. What's different in Entourage???

Thanks in advance

If you've gotten the calendar to work, your a step beyond
me. I get "Could not connect to free busy server" errors,
and the calendar, tasks, and contact folders display as if
they were email folders, and do not show the correct views.

I'm wondering if you could send me a list of your exchange
settings within Entourage?

I'm amazed how little documentation MS has on this.

Have you checked out the Exchange Page?

Synchronization won;t ever occur if the Free/busy server is not setup
properly.
As Diane mentioned, the MVPs.org faq should provide you with a solution
(providing OWA is enabled on your server).

basically, if the webmail server is something like:

http://my.server.com/exchage/me
then you shoud use my.server.com/public as your free/busy server.

Diane, I have the same problem. I'm using Entourage 10.1.4 with OS X 10.2.8
on a Powerbook G4. We just upgraded with a new server. It has Windows 2000
and Exchange 2003. Once we upgraded, my calendar worked fine. I don't seem
to have any problems with email. However, my contacts don't sync. I've
checked out the Exchange page you cited, but, not being a techie, I couldn't
narrow down the problem. I did work with our technical consultant when we
brought up the new server, finding the solution on line to why I was unable
to connect to the server. So, I'm not totally helpless either. Is there a
way you could narrow down the possible problem, given what I've described
above?
