entourage and gmail set up,"send and receive all 10 minutes" nothing happens

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel
Email Client: pop

I jumped through all the hoops I could find, gmail set up easily, I pinged the server. When I hit send and receive, I get a tone and it starts over, no email. What am I doing wrong?

I killed the 10 minutes thing, still no email..

Update, it is letting me send email, just syncing with gmail, do I need to tell it directly to get old mail??
