Entourage and IMAP

I have set Entourage to save sent mail on the IMAP server. Normally this
works ok but every now and then Entourage crashes during the send process
after the email is sent when it attempts to copy the sent mail up to the
server.

Has anyone seen this? If so, what is the fix?

Yes, it used to happen about once a week.

I solved the problem by not using IMAP (dotMac). I have to admit, the
Entourage-dotMac combination was the most unreliable aspect of my computer
work. I now have a policy of not recommending dotMac in general, but
especially if you expect to use Entourage with it.
The only consolation is, Entourage seems to perform better than dotMac. So
I'm sticking with Entourage.

I use Entourage with mac.com with no such problems. It's not nearly as nice
an IMAP experience as a "proper" UIDPLUS IMAP server, for sure. There are no
links to replies, accessing the server can be slowish, and so on. But I
don't get any crashes. They must have been due to something else in your
case.

I have my .Mac account set up as a POP account, not an IMAP account. It
works great.
