Entourage and Outlook compatibility

I read in one of the streams that Entourage wiping and duplicating entries in the calendar was "unusual and not often reported". This is almost libel. Having lost hundreds of hours trying to make 2004 work with Exchange server, and living with the embarrassment of missing meetings, having people arrive for meetings not in Entourage but clear as day in Outlook, I reluctantly shelved Entourage and gave up being a pure mac user and went back to Outlook. I eagerly awaited 2008 which claims to be "exchange compatible" and shelled out the nearly $500 for the product, only to find the bug is not fixed, my diary was immediately scrambled and I can tell you I have spoken to dozens of others with more skills than I who have had the same experience. Will there be a patch forthcoming to make Entourage work with Exchange Server? Don't give me that purist stuff, I work for a company with thousands of people, I cannot get the company "off Exchange server", and even if I could, to what? Mail? Is there a patch coming or simply a money back for a product that cost half a thousand dollars, doesn't fix it's major bug, and offers very little more than 2004 had anyway?

as day in Outlook, I reluctantly shelved Entourage and gave up being a

Your diary? As in "Journal"? Entourage does not interact at all with the
journal feature of Exchange.

Can you be clearer in your problem? Are your calendar events getting
"wiped", "duplicated" or are they "not synchronizing"?

If your Entourage is not syncing calendar events then verify first they
appear when you view your account via Outlook Web Access (OWA).
Entourage will mirror what you see in OWA. If you don't see your
calendar items in OWA then you have an Exchange Server problem.

If OWA shows the meetings as well then try recreating your Exchange
account in Entourage (don't keep trying to use the old one). Make sure
you're using a back-end server address rather than a front-end OWA
server address.

Exchange calendaring does work with Entourage. If yours doesn't then we
need to determine what's going wrong in your environment.

By the way, if you already had Office 2004 you could have paid about
half of $500 to simply upgrade.

Hope this helps!
