entourage "application not responding"

Hello,

I've recently upgraded office for mac 2004 with the auto update
feature on my ibook g4 running OS 10.3.9.

Entourage works fine under my user but hangs and "application not
responding" under another user. I've rebuilt the database and tried
switching identities, but it still does the same thing...I can hear
the sounds of mail being checked even when the application is not
running.

Any help appreciated.

Do you have any large project on the app invilving numerous contacts
and their e-mails??
That could do it :-\

What type of account is it? POP, IMAP or Exchange? How large is the
account?

You might need to download the combo updater from Apple and run it again
rather than using Software Update. Doing so overwrites potentially
problem-causing files. Several users have reported this fixed some odd
problems they were having with Entourage. Combo updaters will install on the
same version as they¹re applying‹no need to roll back or do a clean install.

The combo update installer updates Mac OS X 10.4, 10.4.1, 10.4.2, 10.4.3,
10.4.4, 10.4.5, 10.4.6, 10.4.7, or 10.4.8 to 10.4.9.
