Entourage as "diskless" Exchange client?

P

Paul Williams

The title doesn't actually ask the right question, but in a sense it's what
I mean.

Is it possible to REMOVE the local folders from Entourage, so that it ONLY
connects and shows the Exchange folders?

Ask a silly question, right?

Well, I've been asked this by some baffled Windows admins who can't see why
"the Mac can't do this". Rather than go on a long/boring diatribe about MS
support of Mac clients since 2001, I thought I'd try to remain constructive
and see if it could be done.

At the very least, we'd like to stop users creating ad-hoc local
folders/copies of emails. I am very suprised that more Mac admins are not
asking this question!

Thanks,

P.

Not really.

Well, the local folders behave as some sort of local PST. I really
looked everywhere I could and I didn't see any sign that it could be
done.

:)) Creae a script that moves files back to an Exchange folder as soon
as you place it in a local one ;-))
