Entourage auto send and receive

I am not terribly good with Macs.

I set up a new user on a mac using an outside POP account, not an
inhouse email server. It seems to send and received fines EXCEPT ...
It does not automatically update every ten minutes the way I am used
to seeing. When I push the down arrow next to the icon for send/
receive, the Send and Receive All option is grayed out. The only
choice is to click on the last option, which is the user's email
address. Then it updates.

How do I make it update automatically every 10 minutes like the rest
of the desktop computers? (This is definitely a setting within
Entourage, not something with the outside host).

Open the Account in it's own window. Do you have checked "include this
account in my Send & Receive schedule?" If not check it. Then open Schedules
under Tools in the Menu bar. Open Send & Receive All schedule and create a
schedule for check every 10 minutes. Then under actions check to be sure the
POP account is entered.
