Entourage Calendar and iCal using Sync Services.

Is there a way to bring iCal calendar and events to Entourage Calendar?
I noticed iCal has a calendar called Entourage with the events. Is
there a way to make it the other way around using Sync Services? iCal
to Entourage.

Thanks,

I believe all you have to do is create the envents in the Entourage
calendar in iCal. It only syncs from and to this calendar.

I'm still having problems to sync Entourage Calendar to iCal.

I have no calendar on iCal.
I have 3 calendar events on Entourage.

If I turn on iCal sync on Entourage, and choose to Replace iCal, it will
give me an error (I can transcript the log, but it is related to Time Zone
apparently. My time zones are the same at OSX and Entourage)

If i choose to merge, I'll get a Entourage calendar created on iCal, but it
will generate the error message on entourage a few seconds later, saying
that sync services crashed.

I was able to sync address book and notes.

Any ideas?

In the iCal prefs, make sure the Use time zones" option is enabled.

Corentin,

Thanks for your answer.

This option is enable.

The error still happens.

I think is related to the time zone setting. Entourage ALWAYS had problems
with the brazilian Time Zone.

Here's some info from the log (just part of the log). Means something to
you?

Gave up Corentin.

Deleted preferences, rebuilt database, closed third party preferences,
changed time zone do EST in OSX and Entourage, deleted iCal
calendars...nothing. Still getting the error when syncing iCal and
Entourage.

Yeah, you can clearly see that from the crash log. It definitively looks
like a bug. I'll try to reproduce it on my setup.
Can you pick a different location that would be on the same time zone??
That could do the trick,

You get an error or does it crash ??

I get a message fom Entourage. A window saying that syncservices must be
restarted (attached)

Can you send the crash log to: korventeen at mvps dot org (I avoid
putting the address in clear to limit the amomount of spam I receive on
that account)
I don't want to bother everybody with an attachement that can
potentially be large. I would be curious to see what processes come up
in the crahsed lsit. I can't promise a thing, but it's worth taking a
look,

After trying every possible solution, quitting Windows Shade and APE,
resetting PRAM, deleting preferences, repairing permissions, changing Time
Zones, deleting iCal files etc etc etc and with the patient help from
Corentin, FINALLY Entourage iCal Sync is running perfectly.

Here's the problem I had:
Entourage AddressBook Sync worked fine, but every time I tried to sync iCal,
no matter the sync mode I choose, Entourage was able to create an Entourage
calendar at iCal, but wasn't able to sync, and I get an error message.

The solution:
After trying many other solutions, Corentin asked me to reset the Sync
Services. Be aware that this procedure will ERASE all your address book and
iCal contents! This is from www.msvp.org:
(Warning this erases data!!!)
1. Turn OFF all sync services in Entourage preferences
2. Quit ALL Office applications (including Daemon)
3. Quit Safari, Address Book & iCal and all applications synching through
..Mac (Transmit, Yojimbo...)
4. Use Activity Monitor to quit SyncServices
5. Delete the contents of ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices/
Optionally: if you want to replace all data in the system Address book and
iCal with Entourage data, delete all iCal & Address Book Data Files:
~/Application Support/iCal/*
~/Application Support/AddressBook/*
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iCal/*
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.AddressBook/*
7. Open the .Mac System preferences and make sure .Mac synching is enabled
8. Restart all applications that sync to .Mac (Safari, Address Book, iCal,
etc.... and Entourage).
9. Turn ON Sync Services in Entourage preferences.

Now Entourage iCal sync works perfectly.

Hope it helps.

Thanks again Corentin!
