entourage calendar data

Processor: Intel

we are having trouble reloading the entourage calendar. Cannot find where the data is. It appears to be saved in the time machine and on the finder but will not load from the Time Machine nor through the finder nor by doing an import while in Entourage (tried this on line with a MAC tech). So where is the data?
Unfortunately the data loss occurred while trying to sync multiple calendars using MobileMe. The MM people can't answer the question - neither can the MAC people.

Any ideas?

Reloading??? I'm not sure I'm folowing you.... From a server?? (Exchange

Cannot find

THe data is stored in the Microsoft User Data folder inside your
DOcuments folder.
It's in a monolythic database not very suitable for Time Machine. I
personnally excluded it from Time Machine and if you have it there,
restoring will restore your entire identity the way it was when it was
backed-up: e-mails, settings, etc.

For MobileMe you have to enable SyncServices. It will sync the calendar
of the default account in Entourage with iCYns. You cannot sync multiple
calendars.

Thanks Corentin,
I think what will work for us is that we reload the data into Entourage. We have a file in the finder from Dec 18 that will work just fine. I cannot bring this data back into Entourage. Tried a variety of ways without success and can't find out how to do this anywhere online. Can you instruct me there? thanks, ed

(my wife and I are simply trying to subscribe to each others calendars - when we get Entourage back I think we can make it work)

You could export the data into an Entourage adrchive for that. Far far
easier.
Export in one account and import in the other.

What type of file?? An identity cannot be imported. You need to export
to an archive, that you will later import in the other account.

Thanks Corentin,

Sorry for the long delays here - this has been going on for a while. There is no way to export as the damage has been done - we thought that my wife's Time MAchine backups would have the information. There is an Entourage data file saved that would work if we could open the file in Entourage or any other way. That is what I am looking for.

Thanks, Ed

If your Time Machine backup is not corrupted follow these steps:

1) Rename your Identity in Entourage to something other than Main. We don't
want to overwrite your current Identity

2) Select the Identity folder in Time Machine and select to Restore

3) This will copy the Time Machine copy to your Identity folder. It's named
"main" by default.

4) Open Entourage and switch to the main Identity.

5) Export your calendar data as an Entourage archive file.

6) Switch to your current Identity

7) Import the .rge file you exported

8) Delete the old Time Machine copy when satisfied you have all the data
recovered.

It's advised not to let Time Machine backup your Entourage database. If the
database is copied while being used, the backup could be corrupt. You can
set the Time Machine to exclude the Microsoft User Data folder and create an
iCal event to copy it over at night while not in use so you get one backup
daily in Time Machine.

Alternative method to use Entourage and Time Machine (does a once a day or
whatever time period you select)

and_time_machine.html>

Entourage and Time Machine (creates chronological backup of Identity can be
used by both Tiger and Leopard)

Lastly, in case you don't know where Entourage stores your Identity....

Identities/Main Identity

Thanks Corentin,

Hi Ed,

my wife's Time MAchine backups would have the information.

They probably do if you move the entire identity back in the proper
folder.
Make sure you backup the current one first.
You could even backup the current one, restore the old one, export what
you need to export, restore the current one and re-import the data you
want to reimport.
There is an
Entourage data file saved that would work if we could open the file in
Entourage or any other way. That is what I am looking for.

You can't really "open it in Entourage" As I was saying, the database is
a monolythic block that cannot be imported, merged, etc,
