Entourage Calendar-incorrect time problem

S

Susan

My time zone is set to Eastern Time (US & Canada) in preferences. In
calendar event entry boxes, I enter the time and duration of the event and
check under Options to confirm corresponding time zone. However, when I
close it and return to calendar view the time shows up as three hours earlier.
So, an event that begins at 7:00 pm, for example, appears on the calendar
as starting at 4:00 pm. When I click on it to check the event entry box, the
time is fine. But still not in the calendar view. I've fiddlied around with other
time zones, different months, whatever, it comes out the same. Any
suggestions.

I'm using Microsoft Office X for Mac on OS Panther.

Quit Entourage, and go to the Apple menu and launch the System Preferences
application. Open Date & Time Preferences, click the "Time Zone" tab, and
choose a city located in your time zone (Eastern). Then, go to the "Date &
Time" tab, make sure the date and time are set correctly, and press the
"Save" button. Quit System Preferences and launch Entourage. The time for
new events should now stay, since the time zone of the event and the system
is the same.

Thanks Mickey. Your advice did the trick. I guess I should have thought of it
myself, but the time thing has never come up before, so didn't associate it
with incorrect settings in Panther prefs. Anyway, thank you. Susan
