Entourage Calendar Sharing

Dave Howard

Hello all,

I work in a small office - currently just two of us soon to be four, working
with Entourage 2004.

Obviously Exchange Server isn't available for Mac and besides its not cheap.

What is the best way for us to share our Calendars? My secretary is kicking
me at the moment.

Thanks
Dave

Do you have a web server? Are you guys forced to use Entourage?

I've personally been playing with iCal's Publishing features to my OS X
Server with WebDAV, then sharing them through the web with PHP
iCalendar. It was pretty easy to setup and looks nice.

To share the calendars, assign each calendar event to a project, then share
that project to a local server (can be a shared folder on one of your
existing machines).

All other users subscribe to this shared project and they can all see/edit
the events.

Can I assign all my events to a specific project by default?

Its potentially great...but you have to publish different calendar's
individually. It doesn't seem possible to maintain the categorisation of
various events and then publish them as my complete diary.

Have I missed something?

Dear Barry,
i shared a project publishing it on my iDisk public folder (I know it
isn't safe: just to try). I shared a calendar event and a task. In the
public forlder there are now a file called Archive.rge and an empty
folder called Files. The Archive.rge is a file with several empty
folders inside (Contacts, Events etc.) and an Archive.xml file, the only
downloadable. What it means? How can I share the project with other
Entourage users and Outlook users?
Best
Stefano

On the 'other machine', select 'subscribe to a project...' from the file
menu, and navigate to the archive package on the iDsik.

It's that easy :)
