'Entourage cannot access your data'

Dear members,

I opened Entourage as usual yesterday but was greeted with this
message:

'Entourage cannot access your data. To
attempt to fix the problem, rebuild your
database'

I went through the various steps to attempt to do this but eventually
I got the following message:

'Rebuilding failed. It is likely that your
database cannot be repaired'

Does anyone know how I can resurrect Entourage and how I can retrieve
the emails that were stored on the system? Unfortunately I had not
backed up my emails - a lesson learnt!

Some users have found that if they apply the latest Apple combo updater then
run the rebuild it works.

Others have found that moving their Microsoft User Data folder to another
drive that is larger, the rebuild would work.

Most people in your situation just find they are out of luck.

If you can open Entourage there are ways to salvage your data. If not then
there is little you can do. If you cannot open your database, you can try
EntourAid. EntourAid _attempts_ to recover emails in any corrupted Microsoft
Outlook Express/Entourage email database that is reported to be corrupted

Take this time to start a good backup program. The simplest thing is to set
a Task in Entourage to remind you to backup.
