Entourage cannot connect to the server

We've just integrated a single Mac into a Windows environment.
Exchange Server 2003 is used and OWA works only to external users.
I've enabled the Active Directory utility and I can connect to the
network with any username and password. I've enable Apple Talk on both
of our Active Directory servers. One of thses servers holds Exchange
Server 2003. I've assigned a static IP address to the Mac. I can see
the GAL and choose any name in the organization but the problem is when
I attempt to send a messsage. The following error is generated:

Error:
Entourage cannot connect to the server. Verify that your computer is
connected to the network.

Explanation:
Mail could not be sent.

Account name: "MS Exchange"

Error: -3260

Any help on how to resolve this issue would be great.
