Entourage causes Fans to Scream (MBP)

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before. Every time I use Entourage
the temperature jumps to over 150 degrees and the fans move to over 4000rpm
(sometimes to 6000). I checked the Activity Monitor and it showed
SyncServices spiking up to 100% cpu use, and I wonder if that is the
culprit.

Is there a way around this? I can't have the fans screaming with only three
programs open (and 3GB of ram); it will kill my MBP. The only other option
would be to disable Entourage and go back to Apple Mail.

(By the way, back when I was using Apple Mail, I could have over a dozen
programs open and running, including a WinXP instance in Parallels, with no
'fan screaming')

Thanks in advance, for any advice!

Hello. I noticed a similar behavior on my Mac Pro right after I run the 12.0.1 updater to Entourage (not before that). The program seemed to almost completely take over the CPU, fans blowing non-stop and synchronization with the Exchange server was spotty until it just "went south" all the way. My solution? Go back to Entourage 2004. I'll stay there until the MS geniuses figure out how to move Entourage out of the beta version they are now selling (if you take a minute to read all of the Entourage 2008 problems reported you'll see what I mean). Best of luck.
